The Food Security European Union COMESA Regional Agro Inputs Program (COMRAP) was funded by European Union and managed by Alliance for Commodity Trade in Eastern and Southern Africa (ACTESA).

It was implemented by International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC) in Partnership with AGMARK in Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and Ethiopia, from October 2010 – December 2011

Objective

To contribute to improving rural food security and livelihoods in the COMESA region through training and capacity building of national and regional input providers and regulation of related regional legal frameworks.

Approach

1. Developed an Agrodealer training curriculum on business management and output marketing.
2. Developed Agrodealer Accreditation procedures for the COMESA region.
3. Trained Agrodealers on business management and output marketing.
4. Trained Agrodealer Accreditation Inspectors and Country panels.
